Blue Hills Meteorological Observatory

BET worked with Turowski2 Architecture in a restoration effort of the historic Blue Hills Observatory. BMHO, originally built in 1885, is home to the oldest continuous weather record in North America, and continues to be used for both educational and public viewing purposes. The project began in 2015 and is now coming to successful conclusion. The work including restoring the concrete tower, repairing and replacing fenestration, and repairing, replacing, and repointing of masonry in many areas. We are proud to have played a role in the preservation of this architectural gem with a storied history.
