BET was retained by Jacobs to provide consulting advice as required to facilitate the proposed new program design solutions, which in essence include restoration reuse of existing structures, rather than gut rehab and stripping. BET also provided consulting and overview of the façade, window replacement, and curtain wall design of both buildings as well as the new building enclosure addition to 730 Main Street. The property includes 2 mid-rise industrial buildings of 4-5 levels each dating back to the early 20th century. BET's architectural team worked with the Jacobs to review all construction documents for the preservation of the original frame and structure of the buildings while incorporating the new additions and new windows to the buildings. After the bid and contract award process, BET worked alongside Consigli Construction providing construction observation and project administration services to ensure the work was done according to good workmanship standards, the specifications, and Code. The project will be officially completed in November 2022 and be utilized for offices and laboratories.
