Michael is a consultant with over 24 years of experience as a senior technical architect and project manager, representing institutional and private owners, for projects ranging from new construction to adaptive historic reuse. Michael has extensive experience in the design and documentation process with exemplary knowledge of detailing, building codes, and construction techniques for highly technical project types from research laboratories and data centers to natatoriums and performing art centers. Michael is experienced in working with clients to develop and evaluate their requirements, goals, and expectations, through the application of his knowledge of products, materials, construction techniques, and industry practices. From an environmental design perspective he brings to BET experience in researching, developing, and implementing LEED strategies including life cycle analysis, payback, and product selection for a wide range of solutions to maximize their effectiveness. Michael has extensive experience working with clients and other consultants to develop design solutions that are both aesthetically appropriate and cost effective.

Architect responsible for the evaluation of existing conditions, definition of project scope, production of construction documents, and onsite review and coordination of the replacement of the over 165,000 sqft of roofing and associated detail conditions on 7 projects, over the past 8 years, in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  In addition the evaluation and development of roof safety strategies for 4 buildings to protect workers.


424 Massachusetts Avenue, Oriel Bays

Architect responsible for the delicate restoration of two copper clad oriel bays along Mass Ave, in which we were able to retain the majority of the historic ornate copper work in the process of bringing the underlying wall assembly, windows, and roof up to current thermal, air barrier, and weather resistance.  We received a Cambridge Historical Commission award for this project.


Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Architect responsible for the survey of the existing historic building envelope and production of the data matrix to plan and facilitate the phased repair and upgrade of building enclosure components, including the oversight of construction efforts working in conjunction with preservation contractors and conservation experts.


140 Clarendon Street, YWCA

Architect responsible for the survey of the existing historic building facades, production of the repair documents, and oversight of construction for the ongoing phased repair of deficiencies including; damaged masonry, rusting structural framing, damaged stonework, sealants, coatings, and the reconstruction of the primary corner of the building.


101 Tremont Street

Architect responsible for the survey of the existing historic building envelope, production of the repair documents, and oversight of construction for the phased repair of deficiencies including; wood window replacement in-kind, reconstruction of the entry canopy, repair of damaged masonry and stonework, rusting structural framing, sealants, restoration of the two story cast iron facade, replacement of the roof, and the reconstruction of all of the corners of the building.
